A documentary which explores the reasons why people get tattoos and how thirty-two percent of people with tattoos claim to be addicted to ink.
As of 2015, approximately fourteen percent of the American population has at least one tattoo – that’s 45 million people in the U.S. alone.
While a small percentage (17%) claim to have some regret after getting a tattoo, another thirty-two percent claim have an addiction to getting tattooed.†
Addiction is defined as “the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice to something that is psychologically or physically habit forming, to such an extent that it’s cessation causes severe trauma.” ‡
Does each tattoo have a deep personal meaning as these reality tv shows would have us believe and could 14 million people really be addicted to ink?
